"Miyelo" - published by Perceval Press.  The late 1800's was a time of desperation for the First Nations of the Plains.  The buffalo were gone, and a desolate life sequestered on reservations faced the people.  Out of this arose the teachings of Wovoka - the Prophet - in the form of the Ghost Dance.  His message of a return to the old ways ignited events culminating in the massacre at Wounded Knee in 1890.  With essays, quotations, and eye witness accounts - interspersed with photography invoking a ghostly imagery of their own - "Miyelo" offers a unique perspective on this tragedy.  For more information, please visit www.percevalpress.com

"Through The Eyes Of The Cree - The Art Of Allen Sapp: The Story Of A People" - published by The Allen Sapp Gallery.  Allen Sapp is considered to be among Canada's most accomplished artists, and this aptly named book is a beautiful companion piece for the exhibition of the same name recently on tour.  This award-winning book showcases some of Allen's beautiful art, photos of artifacts from his childhood, and essays.  For more information, please visit www.allensapp.com
